Operation Shut-In on Veterans Day

Every November 11th, the Toledo Buffalo Soldiers organize “Operation Shut-In” to honor home-bound veterans due to medical restrictions. This initiative, launched in 2016, aims to ensure that these Veterans receive meals on Veterans Day despite their inability to leave their homes.
Partnering with Lucas County Veteran Services, Paramount Advantage, Ohio Army National Guard, WSPD 1370 Radio, and local restaurants, we coordinate the delivery of meals to home-bound Veterans throughout the area. Our efforts extend as far as Bowling Green, reaching both Veterans and their caretakers.
Beyond providing meals, “Operation Shut-In” offers companionship and camaraderie to Veterans as they enjoy the company of fellow service members and community volunteers who visit them. Serving these American heroes is a deeply fulfilling experience, and we extend our gratitude to all the volunteers who assist in meal deliveries.
Special thanks are also due to Clear Channel WSPD 1370 Radio for their support and to the Ohio Army National Guard for providing space for our Operating Center. It’s an honor to serve those who have served our country, and we express our heartfelt thanks to all Veterans for their service.
