Preparing for Disasters and Emergencies

Surviving a disaster, whether natural or man-made, hinges on preparedness. From earthquakes to fires, floods to power outages, being ready can make all the difference. That’s why during National Preparedness Month in September, the Toledo Buffalo Soldiers host community workshops focused on disaster and emergency preparedness.
Recently, members of the Toledo Buffalo Soldiers MC presented a seminar at the Zablocki Center in Toledo, equipping senior attendees with essential knowledge on emergency readiness. Participants learned what to have on hand in their homes—including supplies for their pets—to stay safe during a crisis. As part of the initiative, attendees also received guidance on assembling preparedness kits for both home and car, reinforcing the importance of readiness. The event concluded with prizes for preparedness, emphasizing the value of being proactive before disaster strikes.
